How do you view "achieve"? Your answer to this question can be based on the purposeful leadership model's explanation of it, or just on the idea of "achieve" in general.

I view achieve as being able to create a goal that a group can accomplish. In order to achieve goals one needs to set reasonable goals and make sure the whole group is motivated to work towards that goal. Completing small achievements also allows one to create motivation within a group and allows people to want to create more goals and complete more achievements. Achievements could also mean creating a positive environment in the work place, or other small goals that help to make it easier to complete goals. It could be solving arguments and problems. An achievement can be big or small, but it is an important part of leadership.

I would say that, to achieve something is to meet expectations. Obviously this has many different implications, but that is why I believe it is such an important part of achievement. One can meet certain expectations on the job for a boss. This achievement and meeting of expectations would help the business to grow and also prove the employee's worth and dedication to the company. One can meet personal expectations, anything from being able to beat personal running records to raising children to simply getting up in the morning. Meeting personal expectations is also very important because it provides a sort of "proof" that one's method of execution to arrive at the goal is working and it gives someone more motivation to keep pushing forward and improving upon himself / herself. The implications of meeting expectations are vast yet widely applicable and one of the reasons why achievement is an important leadership skill.

I view achieve as completing a goal or a task that one has set. In order to achieve a goal, it requires hard work and courage. You can not expect to accomplish a goal the first time you try it. It is essential to keep trying and not to give up. This is why is it very important when people achieve their goals because they worked very hard and did not give up even if faced with failure. This is a leadership skill because you need to take your own goals into action in order to achieve and it does not come by just listening to others, you need to put in the work yourself and not be afraid to make mistakes.

I view achieve as being able to physically or mentally accomplish something. Anyone can set a goal and say they are going to achieve it but in reality until they physically or mentally do something to work towards the goal nothing has be accomplished. To achieve something means to follow through with it until the end, no matter how many times you fail. Failure is a way to learn and you can never fully achieve a goal without a little failure along the way. Achieving is done over time, it is not an instant thing you wish for. You have to put hard work and effort into your goals to ultimately achieve them.

I view achievement as the ultimate goal of every leader. Obviously, leaders are leaders because they are needed for something; in an employment situation, leaders could be managers that are needed to keep companies running smoothly and thus need to achieve that overarching goal along with whatever specific goals they may have. Leaders lead people in order to accomplish a specific goal, which can arguably make achievement the most important aspect of leadership: It is great if leaders can inspire or engage many people, but those qualities are almost useless if they lead to no meaningful action.
